THE SWAP
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.
A couple of years ago a young man who started out with a small red paper clip swapped his way to a house via his website. Strange though it sounds, he did this by constantly swapping each thing he got for something of slightly greater value until he ended up with a house.
This wacky entertaining experiment continues in The Swap, a game where players ‘swap’ items via our digital swap exchange. The players are the masters of the game and decide what to swap – and what to swap for.
Together with Stimorol and Microsoft/MSN, Springfield launched The Swap in Denmark, Sweden and Belgium in 2009. Thousands of swaps ranging from a Britney Spears’ autograph to a BMW Cabriolet have seen the light of day.
The project generated a massive amount of media attention both on radio and national television.
The Swap was created in our former company CO+TV, but the work of developing the concept continues in Springfield.
